  2. Has anyone been able use the new TCP/IP telnet front-end in Crosstalk
  3. 2.1 with Trumpet Winsock?
  4.  
  5. I'm using Crosstalk 2.1 with Trumpet Winsock 1.0A.  I dial into my
  6. SLIP server using Winsock.  I'm able to use QVTNet, XWin, and other
  7. winsock software w/o any problem.  Then I open Crosstalk and setup the
  8. connection to use a TCP/IP stack.  In Crosstalk I specify the IP
  9. address of the remote host, that I want to use port 23, and that I'm
  10. using a Winsock 1.1 compliant stack.

  12. When I attempt to connect in Crosstalk the *first* time I get the
  13. following error from Crosstalk:

  15.    Error Number 42-2, Stack Error 35
  16.  
  17. The *second* time I try to connect in Crosstalk I get the login banner
  18. for the remote host and the login prompt.  I type my user name at the
  19. login prompt and then the whole session halts.

  21. If I look in the Winsock window at this point its dumping out the
  22. following message:

  24. RECV(1,321F:04DB,512,0)
  25.  
  26. When I disconnect in Crosstalk the message stops.  I can then repeat the
  27. above sequence at will (ie. connect once, get error, connect twice, halt
  28. at login).

  30. Any help would be appreciated, and if there is more useful debug
  31. available information in the Winsock window, let me know and I can
  32. retrieve it.

  34. BTW, I'm using a Gateway2000 DX2-50MHz with the Gateway Telepath I modem.

  54. You have to decide if you want to do INT14 *OR* WINSOCK.DLL from your
  55. terminal emulator.  INT14 redirects COM1 to COM4, and winsock is winsock .
  56. The best INT14 redirection on the market right now is with the 
  57. Beame & Whiteside 3.0c TCP/IP.  It emulates a modem, so that you can
  58. select "Bios1" or "Bios2" as your port, and then type in a
  59.  
  60.     ATDT my.tcp.ip.hostname
