  19. This read1st file, included with zip file packages of the DU Meter
  20. self-installing exe, is an abbreviated version of the readme.txt file
  21. installed with the program. For complete program information, please
  22. either read that file or use on-line help system, by clicking on the
  23. shortcut created in the programs menu.

  25. Brief description of the software:
  26.  
  27. DU Meter 2.20 is a powerful and user-friendly tool that will enable 
  28. you to use your Internet connection more efficiently. DU Meter lets 
  29. you see how much of your full bandwidth potential is actually utilized 
  30. at any given point in time, either by displaying a real-time graph, 
  31. numerical display, or both. It works with Dial-Up, ISDN, Cable Modem, 
  32. and Ethernet cards. The current version presents several new features, 
  33. including an auto-hide feature, an option to remove the DU Meter window 
  34. caption, a great stopwatch which accurately times your downloads and 
  35. reports the average transfer rates, plus full compatibility with 
  36. Windows 95, Windows 98 and NT 4.0.

  38. Installation
  39. ------------

  41. DU Meter is installed simply by executing the self-installing EXE
  42. file, DUMTR22.EXE. You will be asked for the target directory,
  43. and then the installation program will copy all neccesary files there
  44. and create two Start Menu items for DU Meter and its help file. After
  45. that, it will execute DU Meter. You can access its menu by
  46. right-clicking on the DU Meter icon in the tray, or on the open window.

  48. Uninstallation
  49. --------------

  51. DU Meter can be completely removed from your system. In order to do
  52. so, first be sure DU Meter is not running.  Then open the Control 
  53. Panel and run the "Add/Remove Programs" applet. Then, you can select 
  54. DU Meter from the list of installed programs, and click on the 
  55. "Add/Remove..." button. You can also use the uninstall shortcut on 
  56. the Programs menu in the DU Meter folder which is provided for your 
  57. convenience. Please note that the uninstallation will be complete 
  58. only after you reboot your system.

  63. This is the shareware version of DU Meter 2.20 and is intended
  64. for evaluation purposes only.  If you decide to keep it, you
  65. must register.  Full registration particulars are contained in
  66. the on-line help and readme.txt file installed with this program.
