SonM@il Plus may be uninstalled, in a automated way, as any Visual Basic 5.0 program, from the "Control Panel - Add or Remove programs...". Notwithstanding, the program sets INTENTIONALLY the "read only" attribute in some essential files and several links and informative files (and its embedded images) AS PROTECTION FROM AN ACCIDENTAL DELETING
AND ALSO FROM AUTOMATED UNINSTALLING!.
This must be considered NORMAL (NOT AS A "BUG") and the reasons for doing it are explained below in this document.
Because this circumstance, while UNISTALLING or REINSTALLING the program, you will receive some messages warning about some links and files which can not be automatically deleted or are going to be overwrited... YOU MUST ALWAYS ANSWER THESE MESSAGES IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE UNINSTALLING OR REINSTALLING TO BE CONTINUED UNTIL IT ARRIVES TO ITS END.
IF YOU GOT THE MESSAGE "Not found... MSVBVM50.DLL..."
You are trying of installing the program in a PC that HAS NOT INSTALLED the VB5 "runtime libraries" needed to install and run ALL the software developed in Visual Basic 5.0, as SonM@il Plus is. READ BELOW THE ITEM "WHAT DO YOU NEED TO RUN SonM@il Plus?"
WHAT IS SonM@il Plus for Outlook Express?
=========================================
SonM@il Plus is an application which improves Outlook Express with SOUND FEATURES.
There are programs that send sounds as ATTACHS, which must be run to be played. Other require that the recipient to have installed in his computer complex programs (which allows only, notwithstanding, the message content to be read by means of a SYNTHESIZED VOICE...).
Some need the recipient connects to A SERVER, which stores temporally the message, every time he wants hear it... SonM@il Plus SEND THE SOUNDS HIDDEN INSERTED AND CODIFIED INTO THE SAME MESSAGE BODY of Outlook Express and PLAY IT AUTOMATICALLY, at arrival. The messages are played OPENING, OR SIMPLY SELECTING them, if the preview is activated. Then they may be replayed, while you do not delete it, as many times as you want, or you may save it in your hard disk.
(The recipient must use Outlook Express as his email client, but HE DOES NOT NEED AT ALL
to have installed SonM@il Plus in his computer, nor any other program than Outlook Express).
With SonM@il Plus, Outlook Express can send sounds in *.MID, *.RIM or *.WAVE file formats, (of HI CD Stereo quality if you want, or in any of the usual compressed multimedia formats, if you do prefer minimize its size). You may send sounds as BACKGROUND SOUNDS or as VOICE or MUSICAL MESSAGES, (until THREE SIMULTANEOUS SOUNDS if you want).
(The VOICE MESSAGES contain the ORIGINAL SOUNDS with the ACTUAL VOICE of who recorded them. They are not messages of SYNTHESIZED VOICE, and so there is not any limitation about the language to be used or the type of sounds, or noises, contained in them),
Moreover, SonM@il Plus allows, in an easy and friendly way, SELECTING the sound files to use and RECORDING the voice or musical messages to be sent by email or to newsgroups. .
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO RUN SonM@il Plus ?
====================================
You only need to have installed in your computer a 32 bits Windows system, (it is compatible with Windows'95/98/NT), the email and news client Outlook Express (which is included in the versions 4.0 and 4.01 of Microsoft Internet Explorer, and in Windows'98) and, obviously, a SOUND CARD well configured and active...
IMPORTANT: The program is developed in Visual Basic 5.0. So, it needs to run the "runtime libraries" of VB5 installed in the system.
(NOTE: If you installed the "full version" of Internet Explorer 4.X or the WINDOWS'98, those "runtime libraries" will be already present in your system, because these programs include and install them. So, you may skip at all this question).
Otherwise, before begining the installation, you must VERIFY if these "runtime libraries" are installed in your computer. An easy way to do it is to search whether the file named MSVBVM50.DLL is present in the "SYSTEM" folder of the Windows directory of your PC. (You may search it with the command "Start - Find - Files or Folders...")
IF YOU DO NOT FIND IT, you must install, as soon as possible (because you will need them to run ALL the Windows software developed in Visual Basic 5.0, as SonM@il Plus is) the named VB5 "runtime libraries". They are FREE and you may download them from a lot of Internet sites.
If you did not downloaded these "runtime libraries" with the program, you may do it now.

(YOU MAY ALSO OPEN THE FILE "SMHELP_EN.htm", without installing nothing, and click one of the links to those URLs that you have in the item "System requirements").
INSTALL
===========
To install SonM@il Plus follow these steps:
1) EXTRACT in THE SAME FOLDER (it may be ANY FOLDER) all the files of "sonmail2.zip" which contains the Trial Version in English of SonM@il Plus v 2.0.
2) RUN SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions of the screen. The program is installed, by default, in the same folder where the "Stationery" of Outlook Express is. DO NOT CHANGE this directory during the installation. The SETUP program suggest "SonM@il Plus" as the name of the icons group to create in "Start û Programs". You MUST ACCEPT THIS NAME.
3) The installation, very fast and automated, finishes with a message of success and the SETUP program is closed. You may RUN IMMEDIATELY SonM@il Plus, without resetting the system, from the "SonM@il Plus" icon in the icon group of the same name in "Start - Programs".
The SETUP program installs SonM@il Plus, by default, in the folder "Stationery" and in the path
which is the more suitable for the easiest composition of sonorous messages with Outlook Express.
(SonM@il Plus can perfectly run installed in any folder, but its "Stationery" are more easily found when the setup folder is THE SAME WHERE THE REST OF STATIONERY of Outlook Express are saved, i.e.: normally, the folder named "Stationery" in the path above indicated).
If, for any reason, the folder containing the Stationery of your Outlook Express has a different name, the SETUP program will create, by default, a folder named "Stationery" (if it does not exists), in the above indicated path, and will install there SonM@il Plus. In this case, we recommend to CHANGE de default directory during the install process SELECTING as install directory THE FOLDER WHERE THE STATIONERY of your Outlook Express are saved. (If you has already installed the program, we recommend you UNISTALL and then REINSTALL it in this folder or, as other posible option, REINSTALL your Outlook Express).
By the contrary, to avoid some possible problems, DO NOT CHANGE NEVER the suggested name "SonM@il Plus" for the group of icons in "Start - Programs".
The SETUP.EXE program, installs SonM@il Plus, with its "Sound Selector", creates the icon group "SonM@il Plus" in "Start - Programs", configures Outlook Express for supporting the sounds of the "SonM@il Plus Stationery" and installs the more basic of them, named "SonM@il Plus - With Warning.htm", (which you MUST OPEN when in Outlook Express, as stationary for composing sonorous messages).
When the program is registered, a collection of OTHER STATIONERY ARE ADDED, named "Without Warning" (1), "Warning of sonorous message" (1), "Urgent message" (2) and several "for special occasions", "Birthday" (1), "Christmas" (2), with some background sounds and fun animations preconfigured.
INSTALLING IN OTHERS PCs
========================
If you want installing THE TRIAL VERSION in OTHER PCs, you may do it freely, following
THE SAME PROCEDURE above explained in the "INSTALL" item.
IF YOU ALREADY GOT YOUR LICENSE and you want INSTALLING SonM@il Plus in OTHER COMPUTERS OF THE SAME USER REGISTERED, you MUST INSTALL FIRST THE TRIAL VERSION IN EVERY PC and APPLY for a NEW REGISTER for EVERYONE OF THEM, following the "Register Instructions", as you did in your "First Installation".
YOUR LICENSE GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO THREE FREE INSTALLATIONS (included the first one) in the same computer or in OTHERS PCs of THE SAME USER REGISTERED.
If you want, you may install SonM@il Plus SIMULTANEOUSLY IN THREE PCs, by applying an INDEPENDENT REGISTER for everyone of them, WITHOUT ANY CHARGE for the SECOND and THIRD INSTALLATIONS.
RUNNING SonM@il Plus
====================
The interface of SonM@il Plus is very friendly and easy to use.
When setup has finished, you MAY RUN THE PROGRAM WITHOUT RESETTING.
A lot of "info tips" which appear when the mouse pointer sets over near every element of its windows, and the textbox with instructions of the final message, will guide you through its screens.
But, if you do prefer, you may take a tour around the program, before running it, by browsing the HELP which you may access from the "HELP" icon created in the "Start - Programs - SonM@il Plus" group, in addition to the "README" and "Register" ones.
(SEE THE ITEM "REGISTER AND LICENSE" AT THE END OF THIS DOCUMENT).
UNINSTALL
==========
We do not recommend uninstalling SonM@il Plus (not even if the Trial Version were expired) because the program does not any change, neither in Outlook Express nor in your system
(excluding the normal entries in the Registry), the disk space "spent" by it is rather a little one,
and, by the contrary, by maintaining installed the program, you maintain also your access to its
online HELP, this README.TXT and the "Register Instructions" which may be useful for you
in any moment...
Notwithstanding, you may uninstall SonM@il Plus without any problem, if you want.
To do it, open the "Control Panel - Add or remove programs", select "SonM@il Plus" and
push the button "Add or remove...". Uninstall will be carried out in an automated way...
NOTE: When uninstalling, you will get several messages warning about some files which can not
be removed by the uninstall procedure. This is NORMAL, because some essential files, and the above mentioned informative ones with its inserted images, are configured by the same program
with the "only read" attribute as protection from casual deleting or overwriting, and to avoid its
automated uninstall. You may remove them manually, if you want.
REINSTALLING SonM@il Plus
=========================
If because any reason you uninstalled the program (either the Trial Version or your Registered Version) and you want reinstall it, you may do it without any problem. The procedure is the same
as with the INSTALL. Only, you may be aware of one thing:
AS THE REINSTALLING PROCEDURE PROGRESSES, you will receive SEVERAL MESSAGES of the SETUP program warning you that the installation has been unable of deleting
the links of the "Start Menu", and it has found files of previous installations that it is going to overwrite, asking you if it continues or exits of installation. THIS IS NORMAL. These are the links to the icons in the "SonM@il Plus group" of "Start - Programs", and the files linked to them (and its inserted images) which were configured by the program with the "read only" attribute as protection from a casual deleting and to avoid its automated uninstalling.
(We have explained this in the "UNINSTALL" item above).
YOU MUST IGNORE ALL THESE WARNINGS, and answer ALWAYS every message in
such a way than THE INSTALLATION TO BE CONTINUED until it reaches its end (with the
final message of "The installation finished correctly"). If any mistake were made, and the installation were stopped, YOU MUST REINSTALL AGAIN (without any uninstalling) so many times as you might need to reach the "END WITH SUCCESS" final message. íDo not worry! The SETUP program is configured to overwrite or delete only the right files.
If you reinstall a TRIAL VERSION in THE SAME PC where it was installed the first time, you will may observe that (despite you had manually completed a previous uninstalling) the REGISTER DATA of the "Register Instructions" will be REBUILT in an automated way, by running (or try to run) the program, with THE SAME REGISTER NUMBER they previously had (or could be with
a different number, if you carried out some changes in your hard disk or installed an new and
different Operative System with uninstall of the previously existing).

Of course, if the TRIAL VERSION were expired, it will continue without can to be run, but
you may apply for a Register or License using always the REGISTER DATA which
appear at the foot of the page, under a red line, in the "Register Instructions" document..
To reinstall a REGISTERED VERSION, you MUST REINSTALL FIRST the TRIAL VERSION IN THE SAME PC WHERE IT WAS INSTALLED WHEN YOU DID THE REGISTER.
Then RUN IT (or try to run it) ONCE and VERIFY if the "Register Number" which appears under the REGISTER DATA CONTINUES BEING THE SAME writen in the ZIP file and the README.TXT of the "Unlock Program" you received when you registered it and if the "User Name" matches ALSO with the actual Registered Name of the PC owner (which you may see in
the "Control Panel - System - General" tab).
A) IF THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED, despite the Trial Version message of "EXPIRED", you MUST RUN AGAIN the INDIVIDUALIZED "Unlock Program" which you received when you carried out its Register.
You will dispose immediately of your Registered Version unlocked and fully featured!
B) IF THE "REGISTER NUMBER" HAS CHANGED, it could be due to two causes.
1) You are trying of installing SonM@il Plus IN A DIFFERENT PC than the Registered one.
2) Because any of the possible causes, could have been deleted in your hard disk some essential
files to run the program and you MUST APPLY for a new FREE Register.
IF THE COMPUTER and/or the "USER NAME" ARE NOT THE SAME THAT YOU
REGISTERED, the "unlocked" program NEITHER WILL RUN NOR WILL GIVE ANY MESSAGE.

REGISTER AND LICENSE
===================
SonM@il Plus Version 2.0 is shareware.
The distributed version is a FULL FEATURED TRIAL VERSION without expiration time.
(The FREE COPY AND DISTRIBUTION of this version IS AUTHORIZED, as long as
the content of ALL its files, included this document, remain intact).
The TRIAL VERSION CAN BE RUN 10 TIMES, while unregistered, IN A SAME PC,
(IN SO MANY PCs AS YOU LIKE) allowing to compose an UNLIMITED NUMBER of sonorous messages with EVERYONE of the 10 sound configurations which can be carried out in every PC, WITHOUT ANY TIME LIMIT.
(Everytime it is run, the initial "Splash" shows, in the left upper corner, the number of used and
left trials).
When the TRIAL VERSION expires in a PC, the program can not be run again IN THAT PC (despite of trying to reinstall it) and the new sound features of Outlook Express are deactivated.
To restore all its features, upgrading your Trial Version to your Registered Version with Personal License, you must get your Personal License and the Register for that PC. It gives you the right to THREE REGISTERED INSTALLATIONS (included the first one), fully functional and without
any expiration limits, IN THE SAME (if were necessary) OR OTHER PCs OF THE SAME REGISTERED USER. (If you want, SIMULTANEOUSLY in three computers).
(IF YOU WANT TRY MORE the program before registering, you may do it, without any
problem, BY INSTALLING it in ANY OTHER PCs, so many as you like).
SonM@il Plus uses an original anticopy system and, for this reason, the method for getting the Register and License, very easy and virtually automated, differs of the usual one.
To apply for a PERSONAL LICENSE and/or a REGISTER, you must follow the instructions
of the "Register Instructions" document, accessible from the "Register" icon in the "Start - Programs - SonM@il Plus" group, or pushing the "Register Instructions" button in the window "About SonM@il Plus" in the Help Menu, if the Trial Version remains yet active.
