- SaberQuest Mail Spy version 1.1 (Freeware version)

- Mail Spy is an E-Mail notification utility for POP3 mail.
- It uses far fewer system resources than loading your entire
- e-mail package. Mail Spy can notify you that new mail has
- arrived by playing a sound, displaying a message, or
- launching an application of your choice.

- To Install Mail Spy
-
- 1 Place the SQMS11.ZIP file in a directory (ie: c:\mailspy )
- 2 Unzip the file using PKUNZIP or another unzipping utility
- 3 Run the mailspy.exe file
- 4 Click I Agree if you agree to the terms of the License Agreement
- 5 Click YES to have Mail Spy added to the Windows Startup Folder (see also)

- Dialup Support
- --------------
- You can have Mail Spy dialup automatically if you are not
- connected to you E-mail account. Mail Spy can dial, check for mail, then
- either remain connected, or disconnect.

- Setup the Dialup options on the Properties dialog under the dialup tab.
- (Right click the Mail Spy icon in the system tray, then click "Properties.")

- If the Dialup tab does not appear on the Properties dialog, you probably
- don't have dialup networking installed on your computer.

- Disable Automatic check for E-mail
- ----------------------------------
- You can disable the automatic check for E-mail by setting the box labelled
- "Check for new mail every ____ minutes" by setting the value to 0.
- 1 Right click the Mail Spy icon in the system tray,
- 2 click "Properties"
- 3 Click "User/Server Information"
- 4 Set the "Check for new mail every ____ minutes" to 0.

- Make Mail Spy Beep instead of play a sound
- ------------------------------------------
- If your computer can't play .wav files, you can tell Mail Spy to beep
- instead by checking the "Play Sound" check box, and leaving the "Play"
- field blank.
- 1 Right click the Mail Spy icon in the system tray,
- 2 click "Properties"
- 3 Click "Notification"
- 4 Check the "Play Sound" box.
- 5 Make sure there is nothing in the "Play" field in the "Sound
- Configuration" box.

- Notification Dialog Remains Visible
- -----------------------------------
- The notification window will always remain visible for 10 seconds unless
- you click on one of its buttons to dismiss it before the 10 seconds elapse.

- Status Information added to tool tip hints
- ------------------------------------------
- As in version 1.0, when you position the mouse cursor over the Mail Spy
- icon, a small tool tip appears telling you how many messages you have.
- With version 1.1, the tools tips will say "Dialing..." and "Checking for
- new mail" when Mail Spy in in the process of dialing or checking for new
- mail.
