  5. PABTool Freeware is a MAPI/Exchange/Outlook/Netscape/Palm
  6. Pilot/Database Personal Address Book PAB translator for Windows95/98
  7. and Windows NT.  Seamlessly translate all of your personal
  8. address book information across various mail clients and PIMs.
  9. PABTool lets you access the power of the Exchange Personal Address
  10. Book (PAB) to use as your electronic rolodex, or to simply move your
  11. e-mail addresses from one mail system to another.

  13. Windows 95/98 support:  PABTool includes long filename support and
  14. tight integration with the Windows 95 shell, MS Exchange, Netscape, and
  15. the Palm Pilot Desktop.

  17. Open database file format:  PABTool imports and exports from/to
  18. tab delimited text format and now Netscape and Palm Pilot formats
  19. to ensure the maximum usefulness of your address book data.
  20. Using this format you can read, modify, write
  21. your address data from a databse, spreadsheet, word processor, or
  22. simply an editor.  dBase, Excel, Word, and even Wordpad handle this
  23. format for you.  Print, edit, or totally tweak your addresses using
  24. any of these programs!

  26. PABTool is extremely easy to use!  To export a PAB run the program
  27. and logon to the exchange profile containing the PAB that you want
  28. to export.  Click the Export button, choose an export file and format, and
  29. that's it!  When you want to put your addresses back into Exchange,
  30. simply click on Import, choose your import file, and your old PAB
  31. will be backed up, and your import file will be used to make your
  32. new PAB!  Extensive help is always available if you need to know more
  33. about PABTool.

  35. PABTool runs on Windows95/98 and Windows NT.  Exchange
  36. or any MAPI mail client such as Outlook 
  37. is also required since PABTool needs the MAPI interface to access
  38. your personal address book during imports and exports.  If you can't
  39. install Windows Messaging, consider using PABTool Shareware which
  40. does not require MAPI.  See the online help for details.

  68. Installation
  69.  
  70. Unzip these files to any directory you choose.  Then run the setup.exe program to install
  71. the program properly.  Setup will put the files where they need to be and create a shortcut for
  72. you to access PABTool.  You may also install pabtool manually by putting the files where
  73. you like, but remember that the help files must be in the windows\help directory in order 
  74. to work properly.
