- THE EPIC INTERACTIVE ENCYCLOPEDIA README... 09.04.96
-
-
- Hi!
- ------
- We are producing an exciting new multimedia encyclopedia for the
- Amiga, and we need your help! We are one of the few companies who
- still wish to produce quality software for this amazing computer,
- unfortunateky due to the vast amounts of work involved we can't do it
- without your help. We are asking you to contribute your knowledge
- into what we hope will become recognised as the best encyclopedia
- available!
-
- All we need is a couple of hundred words or so on your favourite
- subject which can be just about anything! If you have pictures,
- animations and samples as well then this will add to the quality of
- the production. Information on file-formats etc. can be found below.
-
- When choosing your specialised subject(s) (you can do more than one if
- you wish) try to pick something slightly different to the norm. Try
- to think of something that not many others will do, we can only have
- one entry per subject! Do not for instance write about Computers!
-
- When we receive your entry we will check it, and if it is suitable
- include it with in the encyclopedia. You should put your name at the
- bottom of any text you write and you will also get your name on the
- "contributors" pages. The five entries we feel are the best will each
- receive a free copy of the encyclopedia, everyone else will be sent a
- special discount on the finished product! So get writing!
-
- When it comes to sending in your entries please indicate Yes or No on
- the label to let us know what the disk contains.
- (Send your work to the address listed below.)
-
-
- Important!
- -------------
- All the graphics you produce must be in the 16colour palette that is
- provided. The only Images that can be more than 16colours are the
- PICTURE.1 etc, because these will be viewed on there own screen.
-
- Every subject you create MUST be in a directory of that name^, within
- that directory must also be the subject files. A list of which is
- can be found further below.
-
- N.B. Use TEMPLATE.IFF when creating your picturebrushes and animbrushes.
-
- ^Note: If you work on a subject called ELECTRONICS then all your data for this
- subject MUST be in a directory called ELECTRONICS.
-

-
- Example:
-
- Aardvark is a NOCTURNAL MAMMAL found in
- africa. About 180cm long, It has a long
- snout, large,erect ears, a body almost
- deviod of hair, and a longtail.
- It claws open ant and termite nests with its
- forefeet and uses its long, sticky TONGUE to
- capture insects.
-
- In this example NOCTURNAL, MAMMAL and TONGUE are the Keywords.
- This will enable the user to quickly jump to another subject.
-
- Note: If you do choose an obscure subject, please be sure to create the
- "keyword" subjects aswell.
