  24. This  program is a convenient interface for using several disk/file
  25. archivers.    Currently, Compressor Control Box (hereafter known as
  26. CCB) supports the following archivers: LZX, LHA, DMS, and DSQ.

  31. v1.5 -    12 Feb 96

  33.         Added  'batch  mode'  to  the   LhA-2-LZX   and   DMS-2-DSQ
  34.         conversion  routines,  added  tooltype support for defining
  35.         the  Source,  Destination  and temporary T: directories, as
  36.         well  as  the  ability to define where your favorite viewer
  37.         is.    If the ToolTypes are not found, the defaults of SYS:
  38.         and  C:MultiView  will  be  used.    Moved  the  'Free Mem'
  39.         indicator  from  the window title bar to it's location next
  40.         to  the   'Select   Compressor'   text   for   legibility. 
  41.         Re-arranged  the  'History'  in  this document, to show the
  42.         latest info at the top, removed the use of DLDiz (no longer
  43.         needed), and enhanced the error-detection routines.

  47.         Ok,  cleaned  up the GUI, think I have the docs pretty well
  48.         squared  away  now.    I  have (I think) complied with Dirk
  49.         Vael's  request  to  dump  xDM  and   switch   support   to
  50.         DiskSqueeze!,  I  hope  he likes the way it has turned out.
  51.         Fixed  a  bug  in  the  creation  of  a  new   drawer   for
  52.         decompressing  lha  and  lzx  archives (thanks for spotting
  53.         that,  Ashley!),  fixed  the  constant  re-drawing  of  the
  54.         program window, added the ability to delete the original or
  55.         the new when converting from lha-to-lzx and when converting
  56.         from  DMS-to-DSQ.  Added a bunch of progress indicators, so
  57.         you  won't  think  things are frozen when converting files,
  58.         fixed  the  memory  indicator  (I  hope),  added a means of
  59.         assigning  T:  to  the hard drive if low on memory, fixed a
  60.         serious  bug in the DMS and DSQ routines (I won't tell what
  61.         it  was.   If you found it, you know what it was).  Changed
  62.         the  'Abort'  button  to  'Reset All', which is what it was
  63.         originally  supposed  to do (and now does).  There might be
  64.         more,  but  after  3  days sitting in front of Amy, I can't
  65.         seem  to remember!  I would like to especially thank Ashley
  66.         for doing the AmigaGuide for CCB.  Looks great!

  68. v1.31 - 27 Jan 96

  70.         This  was  an emergency release, disabling the xDM portions
  71.         of  CCB.   I received a message from the originator of xDM,
  72.         Dirk  Vael,  asking  me to remove xDM from the program.  In
  73.         haste,  I simply disabled those functions pertaining to xDM
  74.         and sent it out, to replace the v1.3 release.  I'll get the
  75.         GUI and docs cleaned up for the next release.

  77. v1.3 - 20 Jan 1996

  79.         Finally  found  a  way  to  make  LhA  and  LZX  compress a
  80.         directory  and  include  the selected path ONLY, as well as
  81.         the  .info for the drawer (if it exists).  What this means,
  82.         is  that  you will no longer have files that un-compress to
  83.         something   like:    WorkBench:Games/FavoriteOfAllTime/blah
  84.         Instead,  if  you  had  elected  to   compress   the drawer
  85.         'FavoriteOfAllTime/',  containing  'blah' and such, it will
  86.         actually  only  have  the path of 'FavoriteOfAllTime/blah',
  87.         just  like it should!  Also, I finally got around to fixing
  88.         up  some  of the pull-down menus, take a look at them.  One
  89.         more thing.  I found the program 'DMSDescript', which means
  90.         that you can now View/Add a File_id.diz to DMS files.

  92. v1.3 - FIRST REGISTERED VERSION
  93.  
  94.         I  decided to make the LhA-2-LZX and DMS-2-xDM options only
  95.         available  to registered users, have to give them some kind
  96.         of  benny  for  registering!    Since  v1.0  - v1.2 did not
  97.         support  this  repacking option, it looks like v1.3 will be
  98.         the  first  to  give  the  un-registered users something to
  99.         think  about.  I find the option VERY handy, since it is SO
  100.         EASY TO USE!  So come on, folks, go ahead and register.  It
  101.         really is worth it!  :)

  105.         Spruced  up  the  appearance  of  the GUI somewhat, added a
  106.         pop-up  requester  to the DeCompress option of LhA and LZX,
  107.         to  ask  the  user if a drawer should be created to put the
  108.         contents  into.  Straightened up some code, got rid of some
  109.         excess,  added  the  'About' menu item.  Just little stuff,
  110.         really.  Oh, and I cleaned up this readme, too!

  112. v1.1 - 9 Jan 1996

  114.         Finally  found  a  way  to  fix  the  niggling problem with
  115.         selecting  the device to use for DMS and xDM.  The user can
  116.         now select ANY floppy-type device for use by CCB.

  118.         Added  a  'history'  function  to  the   source/destination
  119.         requesters,  so  that  the  last directory used will be the
  120.         default (hope that is what you had in mind, Ashley!)

  122.         Fixed  the  'View/Add  Diz'  option,  can  now   view   the
  123.         File_id.diz of LZX, LhA, DMS, and xDM archives, and can add
  124.         a  File_id.diz  to LZX, LhA, and xDM files.  Sorry, nothing
  125.         for DMS (yet!).

  128.         track of just how much ram you have left after crunching up
  129.         several disks or directories.
