  9.      showaudio - Play an audio email message

  14. DESCRIPTION
  15.      The _s_h_o_w_a_u_d_i_o program will  allow  a  user  on  a  properly-
  16.      equipped  workstation  to listen to an audio message.  It is
  17.      intended to be called from mailcap files, typically  by  the
  18.      metamail(1) program.
  19.  
  20.      At most sites, it will work by playing audio on the  speaker
  21.      of  the user's computer.  When used in conjunction with spe-
  22.      cial hardware and software not part of the metamail  distri-
  23.      bution,  however,  it can also deliver the audio information
  24.      by telephone number.  There are various options to showaudio
  25.      that  support this feature, but they are not documented here
  26.      since the functionality is not generally available.
