  1. Using the Microsoft Developer Network Technical Library

  4. FILE FORMAT: All of the technical articles are in Windows 
  5. Help file format and compressed using PKZIP.  Each sample 
  6. code example is provided with all related file zipped 
  7. together into a single packet.

  10. FILE DESCRIPTIONS: To simplify our automated process of creating these 
  11. files, each file is assigned a unique name, using a 
  12. 1, 2, 3, etc. numbering convention.  There files were created
  13. for uploading to Compuserve and also have a Compuserve library
  14. number prefix.  So in each directory the files are titled n-1.ZIP, 
  15. n-2.ZIP, and so on (where n represents the Compuserve library section).
  16. Each directory of the library has its own n-IDX.ZIP file.  Each directory's 
  17. n-IDX.ZIP contains the complete abstracts for all the files along 
  18. with the appropriate file name information to help you 
  19. locate files to download.

  21. NOTE - The index files were created for uploading to Compuserve.  They
  22. reference a "library section number".  The contents of each Compuserve
  23. library section have been placed in a seperate directory.  There is a
  24. cross reference at the end of this readme file to convert library
  25. section numbers to directory names.

  28. HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY: 
  29. 1) Select the areas you are interested in and download the 
  30. appropriate n-IDX.ZIP file from those directories.
  31. 2) Read the abstracts in the index file to determine which 
  32. articles or sample code examples you would like to download.  The 
  33. index file will contain the library section number and file name of 
  34. all the files to help you locate items of interest.
