  14. There are two possibilities how to install the Windows drivers:
  15.  
  16.     1) Using the Windows SETUP program (standard installation)
  17.     2) Using the SPEA V7SETUP (quick installation, update)
  18.  
  19. 1) Via the Windows SETUP Program (Standard Installation)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------
  21.     Exit Windows and start the program SETUP from the windows directory, 
  22.     choose at DISPLAY "Others", insert the new disk in the corresponding 
  23.     drive and press RETURN. Now follow the instructions given by the 
  24.     Windows SETUP program.

  27. 2) Via the SPEA V7SETUP (Quick Installation, Updating An Older 
  28.    SPEA BigWin Driver
  29. ---------------------------------------------------------------
  30.     Only if you use  the standard VGA driver:
  31.     Start Windows and choose at the Program Manager:
  32.             PROGRAM-RUN
  33.     and type B:\V7SETUP.

  36. Note:    Updating any existing drivers via SPEA V7SETUP the program SPEAview
  37. =====    will not be installed automatically. Please refer the MicroSoft 
  38.          Windows documentation about information how to integrate this 
  39.          program into the program manager.

  41. Note:    The BigWin driver uses VESA in some resolutions modes as well.   
  42. =====    So, if VESA support is required, a small memory resident program
  43.      should be executed. 
  44.      Install the MIRAGE utilities (from disk 1 of x).
  45.      OR:
  46.      Copy from this disk 'Drivers for Windows' the program V7MIRVBE.EXE 
  47.      on your harddisk and insert the program call in your AUTOEXEC.BAT 
  48.      file.

  54.     1) During first installation the driver will be installed with the 
  55.     lowest possible refresh rate at the chosen resolution.
  56.     If you use a high-class multi-sync monitor and you choose a
  57.     resolution 1024x768 and above, synchronisation problems may occur.
  58.     To prevent this, please choose at first the resolution
  59.     640x480. Afterwards you can change to the preferred resolution and
  60.     refresh rate with the utility V7SETUP, witch appears automatically 
  61.     after starting Windows.
  62.     
  63.     2) While installing the Windows drivers, you may be prompted for the
  64.      "V7-MIRAGE Driver for Windows disk" and the drive A:\ will be
  65.      displayed. When this happens, enter "B:\" if this diskette is in the
  66.      B: drive.  
  67.      If "Problem with disk drive A:" message is displayed, and the 
  68.      installation disk is in drive B:, press ESC twice, and re-enter "B:"
  69.      in the space provided.
  70.      The cause for these inquiries is a Microsoft WINDOWS routine.

  72.     3) Installing graphical drivers for Windows and Virus Check Programs
  73.      Virus check programs, such as the DOS 6.0 internal one, which search
  74.      for changes at *.exe and *.com files, detect changes at the file
  75.      win.com after installing the SPEA V7 BigWin driver. This is not a
  76.      virus, because while installing the driver, driver supplements will
  77.      be saved in this file.

  84.     1) The SPEA V7 BigWin Driver may not be used in 80286 based
  85.     systems. 
  86.  
  87.     2) VDD limitation:  Cannot execute any VGA graphics modes in a 
  88.     windowed mode. The XGA driver supplied by Microsoft has a similiar 
  89.     limitation.  
  90.  
  91.     3) True Color:
  92.     If you use more than 15 icons in one program group, a message will
  93.     tell you that not all symbols are converted correctly. These symbols 
  94.     will be displayed in black. This is caused by a Microsoft Program 
  95.     Manager limitation.

  97.         4) To upgrade the V7-MIRAGE board to 2 MB is not advisable because  
  98.         there are only two interlaced modes more available. Besides especially
  99.         with new boards with BIOS 4.00 or higher display failures may occure.
