COMMON PROBLEMS WITH WINDOWS PRINTING IN THE NETWARE ENVIRONMENT
================================================================
Current as of 1/31/91...but you know how things keep evolving...
1.) Are you running PSERVER? If you are then you need to get the latest
and greatest version, v1.22...PSERV1.ZIP in NOVLIB Library 6.
2.) What does your CAPTURE statement look like that you execute before
going into Windows? You need to specify the NT (no tab expansion) flag, and I
recommend a timeout of at least 60 seconds (TI=60)...NA (NoAutoendcap) is also
recommended for Windows.
3.) Try going into Windows Control Panel/Printers/Configure and changing
the printer port from LPTx to LPTx.OS2 (yes, I know you're not running OS/2).
Try disabling the print manager if it is not already disabled.
4.) Are you loading any TSRs after NETX and before you go into Windows.
There is a known problem printing from Windows applications when any TSRs that
intercept DOS Interrupt 21h are loaded in this fashion, and you run Windows in
enhanced mode. a.) load the TSR before NETX (if you can); b.) run Windows
in standard mode (WIN /S); c.) use the NWWINFIX patch from Infinite
Technologies, WINPRT.ZIP in NOVLIB Library 17.
5.) Do you have all of the latest NetWare drivers? IPX v3.04 or v3.10,
NETX v3.22 (DOSUP4.ZIP in NOVLIB Library 5) and the latest Windows drivers in
WINUP4.ZIP in NOVLIB Library 1 (soon to be Library 5)?
