ECHO 1) Please note that some communication programs can leave
ECHO the 16550 UART's on board the Hayes ESP in a state unknown
ECHO to certain versions of the ROM BIOS. The net effect is that
ECHO the BIOS will fail to detect the UART during a warm boot
ECHO (CNTL-ALT-DEL) and may cause other applications to report
ECHO the lack of a COM port. Currently, the only solution is to
ECHO turn your computer off and then back on. This problem is
ECHO specific to the 16550 and not caused by the ESP board. We
ECHO are sorry for any inconvenience.

ECHO 2) In addition to the files mentioned in the Installation
ECHO Manual, your Hayes Installation Diskette also contains the
ECHO following files:
ECHO
ECHO ESPVCD.386
ECHO ESPBUFF.386
ECHO ESPVDMAD.386
ECHO
ECHO These files are necessary for operation with Windows 3.0 and
ECHO will be installed for you by the Installation program.
ECHO
ECHO 3) Note that on the IBM-XT and PS/2 Model 30, only DMA
ECHO channel 1 is available for high speed transfers when used
ECHO with the Hayes ESP.
ECHO
ECHO 4) When configuring the Hayes ESP for an OS/2 system, the
ECHO statement "device=c:\os2\espos2.sys" must PRECEDE the
ECHO statement "device=c:\os2\com01.sys" in the CONFIG.SYS file.
ECHO The ESP Installation Program will do this automatically.
