  40.      This medication should be stored at room temperature (never frozen) in
  41. tightly closed, light-resistant containers.

  43. USES
  44.  
  45.      Sulfathiazole, sulfacetamide, and sulfabenzamide are sulfonamide
  46. antibiotics used to treat vaginal infections.  They work by blocking
  47. production of nutrients needed by the infecting bacteria, thus killing the
  48. bacteria.
  49.  
  50. TREATMENT
  51.  
  52.      This product is packaged with instructions and an applicator.  Read the
  53. instructions carefully before inserting the vaginal cream or tablets.  Wash
  54. the applicator with warm water and soap, and dry it thoroughly after each use.
  55.      It is important to continue to take this medication for the entire time
  56. prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms disappear before the end of
  57. that period.  If you stop taking the medication too soon, your infection could
  58. recur.
  59.      If you miss a dose of this medication, insert the missed dose as soon as
  60. possible, unless it is almost time for the next dose.  In that case, do not
  61. insert the missed dose; return to the regular dosing schedule.  Do not double
  62. the dose.

  64. SIDE EFFECTS
  65.  
  66.      Minor.
  67.  
  68.      This medication combination can cause a mild, temporary burning or
  69. stinging sensation after each of the first few applications.  As your body
  70. adjusts to this medication combination, this side effect should disappear.
  71.  
  72.      Major.
  73.  
  74.      Tell your doctor about any side effects that are persistent or
  75. particularly bothersome.  IT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR about
  76. itching, rash, redness, swelling, or any other signs of irritation that were
  77. not present before you started taking this medication.

  79. INTERACTIONS
  80.  
  81.      Sulfathiazole, sulfacetamide, and sulfabenzamide combination should not
  82. interact with other medications if it is used according to your doctor's
  83. directions.
  84.  
  85. WARNINGS
  86.  
  87.      * Tell your doctor about unusual or allergic reactions you have had to
  88. any medications, especially to sulfathiazole, sulfacetamide, sulfabenzamide,
  89. or any other sulfa drug, including sulfonamide antibiotics, diuretics (water
  90. pills), oral antidiabetic medicines, oral antiglaucoma medication, dapsone,
  91. sulfone, and sulfoxone.
  92.      * Before starting to take this medication, tell your doctor if you now
  93. have or if you have ever had kidney disease.
  94.      * You should not use tampons while using this medication.
  95.      * During intercourse, your partner should wear a condom to prevent
  96. reinfection.  Ask your doctor if your partner needs to be treated at the same
  97. time as you.
  98.      * This medication combination has been prescribed for your current
  99. infection only.  Another infection later on, or one that someone else has, may
  100. require a different medicine.  You should not give your medicine to other
  101. people or use it for other infections, unless your doctor directs you to do
  102. so.
  103.      * If symptoms do not begin to improve within several days after starting
  104. this medication, CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR.  This medication may not be effective
  105. for your infection.
  106.      * If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ASK YOUR DOCTOR if you should
  107. continue to use this medication.
