  17.      Before the winter season with its share of colds and accidents begins,
  18. now might be a good time to think through your relationship with your own
  19. family doctor. October has been designated "Family Health Month" by the 71,000
  20. member American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP), the national
  21. association of family doctors.
  22.      Establishing a good working relationship with your family physician could
  23. one day help you to remember "Family Health Month" as a time when your life
  24. took a turn for the better. Impossible to do, you say? I surely take a
  25. different point of view and offer you the help you may need to get these
  26. partnerships started.
  27.      The AAFP has just published a wonderful new pamphlet that is yours for
  28. the asking. Its entitled "10 Tips for a Healthy Partnership with Your Family
  29. Physician" and it offers an approach that is both easy and simple. Just
  30. reading these bits of good counsel may be just the encouragement you need.
  31. Send your request, with a stamped self addressed envelope to "Ten Tips" Public
  32. Relations Department, AAFP, 8880 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114. And if
  33. you are looking for a family doctor in your area, you may include that in your
  34. request, too. Just tell them Dr. Bruckheim sent you.
