  18. With hay fever season in full swing, sufferers everywhere are trying
  19. everything in the book to stop their runny noses and calm their red and tear
  20. filled eyes.  And they are wondering why they are "blessed" with this irking
  21. and bothersome malady.  Well, in some cases, you may have to look no further
  22. than your own mothers and fathers.  Hay fever is the most commonly inherited
  23. allergy, and your genes may be the guilty parties.  The same is true for
  24. hives, eczema and some food allergies.  And if you have the problem there is a
  25. 70 percent chance your child will also be allergic.  If you wish to learn more
  26. about your allergies and your genes, you can obtain this information in a
  27. brochure called "Are Allergies in Your Family Tree?"  It is easy enough to
  28. get.  Just call the Asthma and Allergy Information Center and Hot Line
  29. 1-800-727-5400.  You may also obtain other pamphlets, lists of self help
  30. groups, and physician's associations across the country by responding to the
  31. recorded messages you will hear.
