A Resource About Summer Vacation Handbook
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summer is around the corner and the American Council on Science and
Health (ACSH) is again reminding sun lovers that moderation is the key to safe
sunbathing - along with some well planned protection against the sun's
ultraviolet rays. In their annual vacation handbook the ACSH presents a list
of safety tips to have a more enjoyable and healthy vacation.
In addition to the dark side of summer fun (sunburn and skin cancer) the
handbook provides tips on sunglass savvy, safety in the water including tips
for safe swimming and diving, and on the beach safety during electrical
storms. A special section is devoted to health problems that travelers
frequently encounter, such as motion sickness, jet lag and traveler's
diarrhea.
