- about local county aging services that plan, coordinate and advocate programs
- and services for county residents over the age of 60: senior activity
- centers, meals on wheels, transportation, outreach programs, health screening
- centers, foster grandparents, volunteer opportunities, home services
- alternatives to nursing homes, senior employment programs, chore services,
- legal services, senior companion programs, etc. These programs are funded by
- the Older Americans Act, which is a federal law providing grants to states for
- these community services.
