  19.      There is great concern expressed in my mail about the treatment of
  20. genital (or venereal warts).  Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
  21. (FDA) announced the approval of alpha-interferon to treat this sexually
  22. transmitted viral infection that affects approximately 8 million Americans
  23. every year.  Alpha-interferon is used in conjunction with surgical procedures
  24. that remove the wart, and can prevent recurrence by destroying any warts not
  25. visible at time of surgery.

  27. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is offering an information sheet
  28. about this development.  Its easy to obtain, by calling their toll free
  29. information number 1-800-441-ASDS.  The line is manned Monday through Friday
  30. between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM Central time.
