- Preface to the Family Doctor
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- For the past five years, I have been researching the answers to some of the
- thousands of questions that have been addressed to my syndicated column "The
- Family Doctor". It was clear from the many questions that kept turning up
- repeatedly that not all my work was shared with all my readers. Now, at last,
- all the questions can be found in one place for you to share.
- You will note that some information is repeated in the answers that deal
- with similar subjects, but remember that they appeared in the column separated
- by many months. In some cases, the onward march of medical progress changed
- some answers as new information could be included in the response. Be assured
- that there is valuable information for you in each response.
- So it is with all of the references to agencies, foundations, and other
- support groups and resources that are listed on this disc. To the best of my
- ability to check them out, they are still valid as of the date of this
- writing.
- By properly using this disc as an important resource for medical
- information, you may be aided in your search for knowledge about situations
- that are important to you. Remember it is just a starting point, for the
- path to specific knowledge about your personal and unique situation may
- sometimes be long and frustrating. The goal is woth the effort, however,
- improving your own situation and achieving a healthy ans satisfying lifestyle.
