  6. IMPORTANT NOTE: This version fixes all printing problems and postscript
  7. errors associated with imagesetter output.
  8.  
  9. KASTELLAR is a unique TrueType-compatible display typeface based
  10. on an old hot metal typeface called Castellar. It is in the Openface
  11. style, similar to Caslon Openface, yet different. This font has uppercase
  12. characters and some punctuation only.  It was created entirely with
  13. Letraset╒s FontStudio 2.0 (release version). This font is fully hinted
  14. and kerned.

  16. DESIGNSTUDIO AND READY,SET,GO! USERS:
  17. DesignStudio and Ready,Set,Go! may not always display and print special
  18. alternate characters in a FontStudio font. Both page-layout applications
  19. default to the standard Symbol characters if the upper register of
  20. ASCII characters is mapped differently from the standard font map.

  22. The solution (using Apple's ResEdit utility) is as follows:
  23. 1.      Launch ResEdit and open a copy of the DesignStudio (or RSG) application
  24. (Never work on the original!).
  25. 2.      Locate the STR# resource and open it.
  26. 3.      Open STR# 556.
  27. 4.      Click on the last row of asterisks in the lower left of the window.
  28. A rectangle will appear around the asterisks.
  29. 5.      Select NEW (or Insert New Field(s) if you are using ResEdit 2.0
  30. or later) from the File menu and then click the pointer in the new
  31. font name entry area that appears and type the unique font name in
  32. this area. You must enter the unique font name exactly. Character
  33. for character, spelling, correct upper and lowercase usage, and spacing
  34. between words is crucial.
  35. 6.      Repeat steps 4 and 5 (always clicking on the current last row
  36. of asterisks) for each font for which you need the special (option
  37. or option-shift) characters properly displayed and printed.
  38. 7.      When you are done adding all the font names to the program, choose
  39. Quit from the File menu and then click Yes to save the changes.
  40. DesignStudio (or RSG) should now properly display and print the special
  41. characters for each font whose name you've added to the program using
  42. this procedure.
