Welcome to BURKS!

This CD contains a carefully chosen selection of resources taken from the Internet, as well as some original material. If you have a modem and you can connect to an Internet provider, you'll be able to get from here to sites all over the world which store vastly more information than I could possibly have fitted on a single CD.

Please remember that some links on this CD lead to external sites, which you won't be able to access unless you do have an Internet connection -- all that'll happen if you don't have an Internet connection is that you'll get a message telling you that "the server does not have a DNS entry" or some such, so don't panic.

Note: this CD provides automated software installation facilities.
Whenever you see this symbol it indicates that clicking on the associated link will install some software onto your hard disk. You can always cancel the installation process if necessary.

See About BURKS for more information about installing software.
