[About The Guide]
More on Using a Norton Guide
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The most important keys for you to remember are <F9> and <F10>.
Play with this now to see what I mean. F9 is a toggle to take you
between half-screen and full screen modes.
The half-screen mode will display at the top of the screen or at
the bottom. This is dependant upon the location of the cursor
when the <Alt-0> is pressed.
The full screen mode is easiest to use most of the time although
you may wish to use F9 to view a portion of the guide at the same
time as a portion of the UI screen.
The F10 key takes you from the guide back to where you were in UI
to continue the lessons. When instructed to use <F10>, you could
also use <Alt-O>, or any other hot key you have designated,
because it acts as a toggle.
From the option section of the main menu, we strongly recommended
to select <H>, the Hot Key option, and then press the Alt + the 0
(Zero) to see as the key to return from UI to the guide. UI does
not use this combination of keys.
Expanding further on the information from <F1>, the reference to
the numeric pad keys - and + mean that the usage of these keys
will take you to the last or next entry on the menu that was on
the screen.
Pressing <Enter> will cause the guide to go to that section
highlighted in the See also box. Escaping, i.e., <Esc> at that
point will leave the guide in that section.
At any time the word Previous appears in the See also box
selecting that option will return you to the screen you had just
left.
The Auto lookup feature, if turned on, will look up the last word
the cursor was on before the Guide was activated. The menu bar
will be placed on that word in the section in which it is located.
The vertical bar at the right of the screen is an indicator to
let you know if additional information is located off screen. Use
the . and . keys to move the text on the screen. For rapid
movement use the <PageUp> or <PageDown> keys.
If you are new to UI, select Tutorial and press <Enter>,
otherwise, <Esc> and go to the section of your choice.
