Scott Ludwig, Fred Bouvry and Chris Morency are proud to announce the release of PocketChess v1.0 for the Psion Series 5. PocketChess v1.0 is a high quality, full featured chess playing game for your Psion Series 5 handheld computer. This fun and challenging game of computer chess is released as "freeware" to the user community.

Among its many features are:

  • Play against the computer or a friend

  • 8 levels of difficulty

  • Opening book

  • Board setup

  • Hint

  • Full undo

  • Algebraic list of moves made

  • Switch sides & Reverse board

  • Save current game

  • Sound effects

PocketChess for the Psion Series 5 is the result of a collaboration of three palmtop and chess enthusiasts: Scott Ludwig, who created the popular original PocketChess for Pilot, Fred Bouvry who made the Psion 5 port, and Chris Morency who made the great Staunton piece set graphics.
