Rename or move
F6, Shift+F6

This command allows you to rename files and directories (DOS
3.0 or later), or to move files to another location.

There are three ways you can use this command:

. You can rename or move the highlighted file/directory

. You can rename or move a group of files/directories that
you've marked with the Ins key or Select group
        and Unselect group.

. Press Shift+F6 or hold down Shift when you select
Rename or move from the Files menu to specify the file
or group of files you want to move.

Pressing F6 (or selecting Rename or move) brings up a dialog
box like:

       +--------------------- Rename ----------------------------+
Rename or move "somefile.ext" to
_
---------------------------------------------------------
[ ] Include subdirectories [ ] Copy newer files only
[ ] Use Filters [ ] Check target space
---------------------------------------------------------
[ Rename/Move ] [ F10 - Tree ] [ Filters ] [ Cancel ]
       +---------------------------------------------------------+

The following Rename/Move options are available:
. Include subdiretories: check to specify that files in
        subdirectories are moved

. Use Filters: check to specify that only files which meet
        the filter specification are moved

. Copy newer files only: check to specify that only NEWER
files are moved into the target drive or directory

. Check target space: check to verify that there is
enough space on the target drive to store the files

Note: Choose the Filters button to specify the filters
to use during the Rename/move procedure.

There are three ways you can select where to move the file(s)
and directorie(s) to:

. Type the name of the directory to where you want to
        move the file

. Press F10 to display a pop-up directory tree of the
current disk and select a directory from this tree

. Display the directory to which you want to move files in
        the inactive panel

   Cancelling Rename/move:
Press Esc at any time to stop the procedure.

Note: If you have specified Confirmations for the Move
command (from the Configuration panel), you are asked
for confirmation before existing files are overwritten.

Note This command updates the treeinfo.ncd file when you
          rename directories.
