Wireless TCP/IP synchronisation allows project sessions stored on a Pocket PC to be transmitted to the PC server, where they will be processed or stored according to the data handling rules associated with the project.
Synchronising involves transmitting all Marked sessions within one or more projects to the PC.
To Mark a session or sessions, select and hold the session in the Pocket PC's session list screen, and select Mark to Send from the menu, a marked session will appear green. This menu can also be accessed via the command bar after selecting a session.
To send a marked session or sessions, select and hold the project in the main project screen and a menu will appear, select Synchronise to transmit to the server. This menu can also be accessed via the command bar after selecting a project. The remaining unmarked sessions will not be transmitted, and will remain on the Pocket PC. Sessions, can also be sent to server via the Submit control in the session list.
The synchronisation process will display a notification dialog, which reflects the progress of the operation as it proceeds. If a connection to the server has not yet been established (which is the case when a continuous connection has not been requested), it will be established at this point. Sessions are transmitted serially, and then the process is complete. If any errors occur, a message will appear both on the Pocket PC display, and within the Activity Monitor Window on the desktop PC server.
Within the Wireless Options dialog box on the Pocket PC there is an option for automatically synchronising each session after it is completed. When selected, Pocket PC Creations will attempt to synchronise sessions as soon as the are closed, provided the project has been configured to allow wireless synchronisation in its Properties.
Wireless Synchronisation is not available in the Lite Edition.
