Synchronising Sessions

After one or more sessions have been performed on a Pocket PC, the stored sessions can be transferred back onto the Pocket PC Creations server on the desktop PC for analysis using Pocket PC Creations or other software. This process is called Synchronising.

To synchronise sessions from Pocket PC:

  1. Connect Pocket PC to desktop or notebook PC, following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
  2. Verify the device has been recognised by desktop PC. If necessary, locate the Microsoft ActiveSync program on the start menu and follow its procedures for connecting the Pocket PC.
  3. Ensure the Pocket PC is not currently running an open session. If Pocket PC Creations is running, click back to the project menu or the session list before proceeding.
  4. Double click the Synchronise icon in the project window.

Pocket PC Creations will attempt to download any new sessions from the Pocket PC and assimalate them with the main session database within the project on the PC. For more information about accessing the sessions stored in the database, see Session Data Management.

Note: If Pocket PC Creations is running on the Pocket PC and a session is in progress, the synchronisation will not work. A message will display stating the Database is unavailable. To correct the problem, complete the session on the Pocket PC and try again.

Sessions can also be synchronised wirelessly.
