Creating templates

Template pages make the task of creating a web site much easier. Create a basic template for the pages with the table, images and links that go on every page already in the template. Then you will speed up the process of creating a page by opening the template and adding to it. To create a template, choose File, New and click 'A blank template' and click Create. Now build the basics of the page by adding images and tables and any text which should appear on all pages of this type. When you're done, choose File, Save and give the template a name with th

e extension, .MZT. To create a page based on this template, choose File, New and click 'A new document based on a template', use the Choose File option to select the file to base it on and click Create. The template opens and you can now add the content required to complete the page.

Working with views
If you're experienced with working in Netscape Composer you will find that the HTML tags view (selectable by a tab across the bottom of the screen), shows your page as you're used to creating it. If you'd rather work direct with HTML, choose <html> Source and you can edit the source code directly. This is handy if you want to copy a style sheet and place it in the file or make a quick change to a table or some other setting. When you're done with this view, click Normal to return to working on your page. While the Preview option is useful for checking the page as you're creating it, you should periodically save your page and click the Browse button to preview it in your browser
