Another utility that gives a lead on potentially fake components is "Cache Check". It analyses a system and tells you how fast the cache works or if it is installed at all.

  CPUInfo

This program from Intel identifies the speed the processor is running in your system but cannot reveal what it was originally specified for. If the markings have been changed, only laboratory testing will disclose its original pedigree.

  Universal File Operator

Registered price: $30
Rating:

UFO is a great DOS file manager for those who use Windows 95, but prefer DOS for speed. UFO provides support for long filenames, and the Windows 95 Start menu, but operates in a DOS box. In addition to all the usual file management features, UFO provides support for archives. Your archives are treated as directories, and you can perform operations on them without unzipping the archives. The program also contains viewers, plus lots of other handy features, such as the TempTerminator, which deletes all your temporary files.

Symbol Selector is an easy way to insert TT symbols into your documents.
Symbol Selector

Registered price: Freeware
Rating:

Symbol Selector is a nifty free utility which makes using your TrueType symbol fonts easy. It works like the "insert character" or "insert symbol" command in your word processor, but it's much faster to use: it loads faster, and the symbols are a decent size. Choose the symbol you want, and copy it to your document via the clipboard. The program shows the symbols in an easy-to-see style, but you can increase or decrease the size. You can also export fonts.
