MuSIG Online A refreshing homepage focusing on music prepared by volunteers and sponsors. If you like music and computers this has some great hotlinks to explore. Mega-Mathematics! The first page to show that there is more to maths than just learning your tables! Mathematics is a live science with new discoveries being made every day. The frontier of mathematics is an exciting place, where mathematicians experiment and play with creative and imaginative ideas. Many of these ideas are accessible to young children. Others (infinity is a good example) are ideas that have already piqued many children's curiosity, but their profound mathematical importance is not widely known or understood. The MegaMaths project is intended to bring unusual and important mathematical ideas to elementary school classrooms so that young people and their teachers can think about them together. The Gallery of Interactive On-Line Geometry If you think that's all there is to maths on the net, think again! This site is a great way to show off what can be done on the Web. The site has some pretty spiffy hands-on demos of geometrical projects. It reminds me of some of the fun we had with Fractal programs. This is much better. KidPub I really love Perry Donham's KidPub site. It encourages children of all ages to write and publish their stories on the Net. Children's Literature Web Guide An indispensible collection of links to Internet Resources Related to Books for Children and Young Adults. Gateway to World History You have got to check out the wonderfully organised site. It organises net resources according to themes and has a great collection of hot-linked sites. Chinese Educational Software Page It's nice to see the Internet beginning to recognise Asian languages and culture. This is a great start. Project GeoSim Information Server If you are interested in looking at geographical, population trends and simulations, check out the Project GeoSim Information Server homepage. It is a joint research project of the Departments of Computer Science and Geography at Virginia Tech for creating education modules for introductory geography courses.
