BushNet BushNet consists of a collection of schools in Far Northern Queensland, some with as few as eight students. The BushNet schools have produced an appealing site that brings a little of the flavour of their area to the Net, from the oral history projects at Mareeba High to the pupil's own biographies at Biboohra. -- Rose Vines Reedbooks Readbooks is a great place to find information and inspiration for kids on all topics related to the classroom. Includes Key pal contacts, science, sport, on-line projects and much more. City Net When Carmen Sandiego just doesn't cut it for you, check out City Net, which does look like one the most comprehensive international guide to communities around the world. I like the fact that it is updated almost every day. Great for travel, entertainment, and local business, plus government and community services for all regions of the world. The World Game Institute A non-profit, non-partisan research and education organization, originated by Buckminster Fuller, one of my heroes -- and creator of the geodesic dome. WGI aims to foster responsible citizenship and change in a global society and, ahem, is an officially sanctioned United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It has a creative, experiential approach to education, producing award-winning World Game Software, World View Maps and World Game '96 Workshop Series. World Game Programs focus on creating a positive vision of the future and empowering participants to reach for it. Worth checking! Lara's Virtual Reality Page This is one of a kind with links compiled from a variety of sources including the Yahoo index. It offers a tantalising introduction to VR resources currently available. The Aussie School House A virtual meeting place for teachers and students of all ages and backgrounds to meet over the Net and collaborate and learn via a variety of projects. Part of the Global School House project at http://www.gsh.org. See School PC November 96 news.
