SoftCD for Training Courses

Delivering customisable training material

Would you like deliver high quality training material to your students with this flexibility? :

Use the visual impact that CD-ROM allows. Incorporate narration and interactive video-based material.
Transparently develop the course by incorporating new contents and tests. Update as often as required, without distributing new CD-ROMs.
Tailor and progress the course at the student's pace by revealing "new" lessons, or tailor courses to individual companies.
...all conveniently and without adding to the learning curve.

In short, SoftCD puts you back in control:

Generate amendments as often as required. Increase the depth and scope of material as necessary.
SoftCD's unique ability to provide different views of the same CD simplifies production and distribution.
Production and administration costs are significantly reduced because SoftCD eliminates the need to manufacture and distribute new CD-ROMs for each update. When tailoring CD-ROMs, by using one base CD-ROM for all, you benefit from economy of scale.

How you use SoftCD
SoftCD requires no programming and is simple to use. The steps are:

1. Distribute your course including high-quality multimedia content to your customers on CD-ROM.
SoftCD is compatible with any Windows application; therefore, you can continue to build courses with your favourite course-building tool.
Hide content you want to reveal in staged updates by placing it in a file or folder not directly visible to the student.
2. Publish updates.
When information requires updating, the administrator uses SoftCD Publisher to publish the updates to the CD-ROM as Amendment Files. SoftCD's unique Epsilon Technology includes only the changes in the Amendment Files and then compresses the file size further.
Content on the original CD can be 'revealed' by updates that re-organise it so that new material becomes visible to the student.
To tailor the catalogue for example, to include different optional course material, use one base CD-ROM but distribute different amendments to "complete" the catalogue by incorporating the appropriate pricing or other information.
3. Download the amendment.
At the students' convenience, the Amendment Files are downloaded. One click starts the download.
Download times are typically minutes, some 10 to 100 times faster than with competitive products.
4. Keep working.
When the student returns to the course, the latest data is displayed. The changes are seamless because SoftCD Client uses the Amendment Files to provide the effect of an updated CD-ROM.
