iOra is developing a range of products for remote and mobile users. As storage requirements continue to grow
faster than bandwidth an increasing information bottleneck is emerging. Furthermore the increasingly distributed nature of most
organisations means that managing information in a timely and cost effective manner is critical to their business success.
Businesses need new products to address
these issues and to manage information between remote users in the new environment.
Using its unique Epsilon Technology iOra is building Epsilon-enabled products to
solve these problems in practical and simple to use ways.
iOra's first product to make use of Epsilon Technology is SoftCD.
In future iOra plans to deliver other products which will also take advantage of Epsilon Technology to improve
performance and reduce costs. Current developments and plans include:
NetBack - A remote user backup product that allows business critical data to be backed up to
a secure Intranet/Internet site. Using Epsilon Technology the size of the incremental backups is
greatly reduced, allowing remote backup over modem connections to become a practical reality.
Backups can be automated to avoid the remote user having to remember to do backups
WebClub - Allows a distributed group of remote users to share a folder on their machine
using Internet protocols. With WebClub, company executives, sales and marketing and technical
support personnel can share a common set of documents. Using Epsilon Technology the information can
be quickly updated by any of the remote users.
Epsilon Email Accelerator - No more waiting hours for a download with the associated cost of
peoples time and telecommunications costs. Large email attachments are downloaded and uploaded
10 times faster than using standard remote email.
Note - iOra makes no promises implicit or explicit regarding decisions to ship as yet unreleased
products. |
