To prepare for this new method of distributing information ACME's sales manager (the publisher) must first organise the information. Most of what he wants to distribute is already on the company's Intranet and is already maintained there with the latest versions. Consequently the easiest thing to do is simply to add the material not currently available on the Intranet there. In this case this involves only moving a small number of miscellaneous documents (the material previously sent around by email) onto the Intranet server. This has the added benefit of making it available on the internal networks directly, and thus reducing load from large attachments on the comapny's email infrastructure. ACME's external Internet website is already available through its Intranet for employees, so no action is required to gain access to it. |
