Index. Source notes. Spoto's book may well have earned its subtitle, superseding both Summers' and Guiles' books as the definitive biography of Marilyn Monroe - certainly, that was the intention. It's exhaustively researched and scrupulously documented, yet I've also read critiques that highlight several major errors, particularly regarding Spoto's coverage of the events leading up to Monroe's death.

	Further Reading Other books that, though listed under different categories (or not available to me at this time), contain a considerable amount of biographical information: My Sister Marilyn by Berniece Baker Miracle This book by Marilyn's half-sister contains a wealth of biographical information about Marilyn's childhood. The Life and Curious Death of Marilyn Monroe by Robert Slatzer As the title suggests, Slatzer's well-known book offers a good deal of information on Marilyn's life in addition to the investigation into her death. All of the books in the Equal Mix section of this web site contain a fair amount of biographical information.
