This is the 15^th printing of the first edition of the Loos classic. It's an amusing book, though very, very different from the 1950's musical in which Marilyn starred. As originally written by Loos, the character of Lorelei is a gold-digging flapper, much more dim-witted (and less shrewd) than the character Marilyn played. Many of the events in the story are different, as well: Henry Spoffard is an adult, for one thing, and the tiara incident plays itself out in England, not on board ship. It would be interesting to find a copy of the 1950's Broadway musical script, to see how that differed from both this original book and the Twentieth Century-Fox movie.
