Crown's book is organized with each of Marilyn's Fox films having most or all of a chapter devoted to it. This book would be worth having for the photos alone - an excellent selection of rare costume-test shots, publicity still, reproductions of lobby cards and posters, and out-takes from the movies. Also presented is some excellent information about the making of these movies: for instance, the chapter on River of No Return includes a lengthy memo from Daryl F. Zanuck detailing the rewrites he wanted to see for a particular scene.

	The Story of the Misfits by James Goode Publication: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc. 1963. USA. ISBN: Details: Hardback. 331 pages. Contains: 16 pages of photos (b&w). This is journalist James Goode's account of the filming of Marilyn's last movie. It's fascinating, impartial, and very well-written.
	The Making of the Misfits by James Goode Published by Limelight Editions. 1986. USA. ISBN: 0-87910-065-6. Details: Softback. 331 pages. Contains: 16 pages of photos (b&w). This book is a re-release of The Story of the Misfits.
	The Screen Greats: Marilyn Monroe by Tom Hutchinson Published by Exeter Books. 1982. USA. ISBN: 0-89673-136-7. Details: Hardback. 80 pages. Contains: Photos on all pages (color, b&w). Filmography. Tom Hutchinson has an edge over most authors of Marilyn books - he actually met her on a few occasions during the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl (unfortunately, that doesn't provide the author with any revelations regarding his subject). The book contains a small amount of biographical information, but focuses mostly on Marilyn Monroe's movies and acting. The bulk of the accompanying photos are movie stills, but those that are not are mostly good, non-standard shots.

Marilyn and Me by Susan Strasberg Susan Strasberg provides a wealth of information about Marilyn's relationship with Paula and Lee Strasberg, her last acting coaches (and Susan's parents).
