Next, we provide years of experience in circuit design and system development to realise the smartcard IC and supporting software. And we provide the leading technology, the same that we use to deliver our world leading high-endurance EEPROMs which offer over 1 million Erase/write cycles, or the high density technology used for our high density 16 Megabit FLASH and EPROM products.

Look at the circuit features, for example, of our family of Memory Smartcard IC's. These offer three important advances over other products:

• Memory Matrix. Which scrambles the physical/logical addresses and controls each read or write access to the different on-chip memories (RAM, ROM and EEPROM) on the IC.
• System ROM. Which provides test services to card assemblers allowing them to execute in-depth testing of the cards before shipment, firmware library routines for card communications, memory management and cryptography.
• MAP. Which is a Modular Arithmetic Processor or hardware mathematical engine designed for processing public key algorithms at very high speed and with the highest security.
