How Does It Work? The SAW TOOTH generator is a simple repeating linear function. A single cycle of the generator consists of two "teeth". The "falling edge"refers to the vertical edge of the first tooth, which you can control with the Falling Edge parameter. With a Falling Edge value of 50.0% (the default), both teeth will be the same size. Any value less than 50.0% moves the first tooth's falling edge to the left, making it smaller than the second tooth. Values greater than 50.0% move the first tooth's falling edge to the right, making it the larger of the two teeth. The SAW TOOTH generator is a naturally repeating function, and does not mirror every other cycle as some generators do. The standard generator parameters are included for manipulating the function. Hints! In conjunction with some of the Pattern class components, such as Stripes, you can use SAW TOOTH to make a variety of geometrical designs. |
