This generator is a bias function that can be made to repeat.

How Does It Work?

The BIAS generator is basically a linear function that you can bias or weight toward either higher or lower values. BIAS is controlled using the standard generator parameters plus a Bias parameter.  The Bias parameter at 0.0% weights the function toward low values, while the Bias parameter at 100.0% weights it toward high values. By default the BIAS generator does not repeat. However by setting the Repeat Flag parameter you can change that. This function repeats by mirroring every other cycle, thus creating a smooth transition between one Bias function and the next.

Hints!

You can "bias" another generator function curve towards the left or right by linking a BIAS component to the other generators Input parameter. BIAS can also be quite useful for litening or darkening Natural and Noise conponents through their Blend Function.

Standard Generator Parameters

Amplitude

Describes the function height above and below the horizontal axis. The default value is 50.0%. Increase the function height up to 100.0% or it flatten out at 0.0%.

Shift

Repositions the function vertically, above or below its default position on the horizontal axis. At 100.0% the function is entirely above this axis; at 0.0% it's entirely below. The default is 50.0%.

Frequency

Compresses the function horizontally when the value is greater than the default of 1.0. Or stretches the function horizontally when the value is less than 1.0.

Phase Amount

Phase repositions the function along the horizontal axis. Phase Amount gives a percent value for the phase range set by Phase Min and Phase Max.

Phase Min

Sets one end of the phase range.

Phase Max

Sets the other end of the phase range.

Lower Clamp

Controls the minimum function value. The default is 0.0%.

Upper Clamp

Controls the maximum function value. The default is 100.0%.

Invert

When enabled, flips the function about the horizontal axis.

Reverse

When enabled, reverses the function. For symmetrical functions, you may not see the difference.

Input

Function re-mapping input. Link this to an linear time component to shift the function into the time domain.

Percent Component Parameters

Repeat Flag

When checked, the function will repeat (swapping directions each repeat).

Bias

Biases the function toward low curve for values less than 50% and towards high curve for values above 50%.
