WMFIN Command

Imports a file in Windows metafile format

Command line: wmfin

The Import WMF dialog box is displayed.

Insertion point: Specify a point
X scale factor <1 > / Corner / XYZ: Enter a scale factor or enter c


Unlike bitmap or raster files, metafiles contain vector information, which can be scaled and printed without loss of resolution.

Import WMF Dialog Box

File Name

Select or enter the name of the Windows metafile (file extension .wmf) you want to import.

Files of Type

Select the type of files you want to see in the File Name box.

Look In

Select the drive and directory that contain the Windows metafile you want to import.

Preview

Displays a preview of the Windows metafile you want to import.

Find File

To find Windows metafiles on multiple drives and directories, choose Find File.

Options

The Import Options dialog box is displayed.

X Scale Factor (WMFIN)

Places a copy of the metafile with its base point at the specified insertion point.

Y scale factor (default = X): Enter a scale factor or press ENTER
Rotation angle <0>: Specify an angle or press ENTER

AutoCAD LT multiplies all X and Y dimensions of the metafile by the X and Y scale factors supplied. The metafile is rotated by the angle specified, using the insertion point as the center of rotation.

Corner (WMFIN)

Defines the X and Y scales at the same time, using the insertion point and another point as the corners of a box. The X and Y dimensions of the box become the X and Y scale factors. The insertion point is the first corner.

Other corner: Specify a point
Rotation angle <0>: Specify an angle or press ENTER

XYZ (WMFIN)

Scales the metafile in all three dimensions.

X scale factor <1> / Corner: Enter a scale factor, enter c, or press ENTER

X Scale Factor

Defines X, Y, and Z scale factors for the metafile.

Y scale factor <default=X>: Enter a scale factor or press ENTER
Z scale factor <default=X>: Enter a scale factor or press ENTER
Rotation angle <0>: Specify an angle or press ENTER

Corner

Defines the X and Y scales at the same time, using the insertion point and another point as the corners of a box, and then defines the Z scale.

Other corner: Specify a point
Z scale factor (default = X): Enter a scale factor or press ENTER
Rotation angle <0>: Specify an angle or press ENTER

Import/Export Options

Controls export options for DXF and PostScript files and import options for Windows metafiles. One of the following options is available.

DXF Out

Sets drawing interchange file output options (see DXFOUT).

PostScript Out

Sets PostScript file output options (see PSOUT).

WMF In

Sets Windows metafile input options (see WMFIN).
