BMAKE Command

Defines a block or drawing file from selected objects

Draw toolbar:
Draw menu: Block > Make
Command line: bmake

The Create Block dialog box is displayed. After the block is specified, the selected objects are removed from the drawing if Delete Selected Objects After Block Creation is selected.

Save as Internal Block

Creates a block definition in the current drawing.

Save as DWG File

Creates a new drawing file from selected objects.

Name

Specifies the name of the block or drawing file to be created. A block name can be up to 31 characters. You can use letters, numbers, and special characters, such as $, -, and _.

Select Objects

Picks the objects to include in the new block. When you have finished selecting objects, press ENTER to display the dialog box. The objects you select are deleted from the drawing unless you selected Retain Objects.

Delete Selected Objects after Block Creation

If the check box is checked, AutoCAD LT automatically deletes the selected objects after they have been included in the block.

Base Point

Indicates where the insertion point for the block is. You can specify a base point by choosing Select Point and selecting a point on screen, or you can enter coordinates in the X, Y, and Z text boxes.

Description

Accepts a textual description up to 256 ASCII characters long for display in Content Explorer. This description can be modified with BMOD.

Apply

Creates the specified block or drawing file. After choosing Apply, you can continue creating additional blocks or drawings.

Related Commands: ATTDEF and DDATTDEF create an attribute definition for text to be associated with a block. DDINSERT and INSERT place a previously defined block or drawing in the current drawing. OOPS restores erased objects. WBLOCK writes selected objects to a new drawing file. XREF controls xrefs (external references). CONTENT displays the Content Explorer, which manages all objects that can be inserted into your drawings. BMOD modifies the description of a block definition or of the current drawing.
