Set image options

Image options define the default resolution and compression level for your pictures when you save them. The resolution sets the number of pixels per inch (ppi) in your picture. The higher the resolution (number of pixels per inch), the higher the picture quality. Choose from the following resolutions:

The compression level determines how much the picture file size will be compressed when you save your picture or convert your picture to PNG format. The compression level affects both the file size and picture quality. The higher the compression level, the smaller the file size, and the lower the picture quality.

To set the default resolution:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click Image options.
  3. Set the default resolution for your pictures.
  4. Click OK, and then click OK again.
To set the default compression level:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  3. Set the default compression level for your pictures.
  4. Click OK, and then click OK again.
