By grouping objectsA part of a picture, including shapes, text boxes, lines, or animations, that can be edited individually., you can treat them as a single object, even if you click outside of the selection. You can ungroup the objects later to make individual changes to each object or to form new groups. However, if you apply an effect to objects that have been grouped, the effect may disappear when the objects are ungrouped.
To group objects:

Press CTRL, and then select each object you want to include in the group.

On the Edit menu, click Group.
To ungroup objects:

Select the group of objects you want to ungroup.

On the Edit menu, click Ungroup.

If the objects are small or close to one another, select each object from the StackThe strip on the right side of the product screen that shows the layering order of objects. instead of from the canvasThe white area on the workspace that represents the printable portion of the picture. For Web pages, the canvas contains what is published to the Web..
- You can temporarily group objects by pressing the CTRL key, and then selecting each object. You can move, delete, and align the selected objects as a group. However, when you click outside a group of selected objects, the objects become ungrouped.
Note
The
icon that appears near the objects indicates multiple items have been selected but not yet grouped. To group the objects, click this icon. The
icon indicates the objects are grouped. To ungroup the objects, click this icon.
