When you animate a pictureGeneral term that includes photos, graphics, clip art, and objects. Any photo or project in this product. or objectA part of a picture, including shapes, text boxes, lines, or animations, that can be edited individually., you can make the animated object spin, bounce, rotate, or scroll across the page. You can then add your animated picture to a Web page or e-mail.

To create an animated picture:

In the TrayThe strip at the bottom of the product screen that shows thumbnails of open pictures., click the picture you want to animate.

Before creating your animation, make all necessary changes to your picture. Once you create your animation, you will no longer be able to edit the picture you are using. It is recommended that you use a copy of your original picture.

On the Tools menu, click Web Animation.

To use the picture displayed on the canvasThe white area on the workspace that represents the printable portion of the picture. For Web pages, the canvas contains what is published to the Web., click Next.

Use a different picture.
- To use the picture in the Tray, double-click the picture in the Tray.
- To use a picture on your computer, click Open a project.
- To scan a new picture, click Scan in a picture.
- To download a picture from your digital camera, click Download from digital camera.

Do one of the following:
- To animate the entire picture, click Animate the whole project.
- To animate an object in the picture, click the object in the StackThe strip on the right side of the product screen that shows the layering order of objects. that you want to animate, and then click Next.

Under Click an animation, click the animation effect you want to apply, and then click Next.
- Set the background.
- If your Web page background has a pattern to it, click Patterned.
- If your Web page has a solid color background, do the following:
- Click Solid color.

Select a background color.
Click a box in the color panel.

To choose a custom color, do the following:
- Click More color choices.
- To change the color hue, move the yellow circle around the outside of the color wheel.
- To change the color saturation, move the blue circle around the inside of the color wheel.
- To change the color brightness, move the blue circle toward or away from the center of the circle.
- Click Done.

Click Next.

Click the picture size you want, and then click Next.

Under How long do you want the animation to last, type or select the length of the animation.

Under How many frames do you want the animation to have, type or select the number of frames for the animation.

Set the number of times you want the animation to play.

Click Next.

Do one of the following:
- To save your animation, click Save it.
- To make changes to your animation, click the back arrow.

Click Done.
Tips
- Smaller pictures take up less disk space, download faster, and animate more smoothly than larger pictures.
- For best results, animate a single object in a picture that has at least two layersThe part of a picture that contains an object. Objects in layers can be changed and moved without affecting other objects in the same picture. The order of layers can be changed by using the Stack. (a background and an object).
- If your animation is too rough, increase the number of frames in the animation, or decrease the length of the animation.
