Japanese astronauts
The first Japanese to go to space on a Space Shuttle after receiving training at NASA was Mohri Mamoru. His first space mission was in 1992. Three more Japanese have boarded Space Shuttle missions since then. Four more Japanese have completed training as astronauts and are waiting for an opportunity to board a space flight.
