From a users perspective, how does it work?
The user acquires software through the normal channels. Included with the software is an intelligent forms registration application to be used when paying the registration fee. By entering the appropriate data in the registration forms, the user selects the appropriate license(s) and the desired payment method. Payment methods currently accepts are: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, First Virtual, US checks, foreign checks in US dollars, and cash in a variety of currencies. The registration form checks for obvious errors and then formats the data for delivery to Kagi.Payments can be sent via email, postal mail, or fax. The registration information is printed with barcode for postal mail and fax transmissions.
Kagi processes the registration information and if possible, sends the Payer an acceptance via email along with other information, or if desired by the payer, a receipt via postal mail. Software authors receive a detailed accounting of all the payer information. Payment to the software author occurs on a monthly basis after payments appear on the Kagi bank statement.
