HTML Help includes many features that enable help authors to create dynamic help systems or Web sites:
- An ActiveX® control that provides navigation features, such as a table of contents, index, and related topics.
- Full-text search, Associative links (ALinks), and Keyword links (KLinks) in compiled help files.
- Run-time merging of multiple compiled help (.chm) files into one file. This includes merging of table of contents (.hhc) and index (.hhk) files.
- The ability to automatically generate an index that merges keyword entries in a topic with an index file.
- The ability to download compiled help files from a Web site.
- The power to create training cards and context-sensitive help for software programs using the HTML Help ActiveX control.
- A full set of authoring tools, a help compiler, an image editing program, and a help file authoring program.
