November 1998 highlights:

We've added a section on Vector Mark-up Language (VML), which is an XML-based exchange, editing and delivery format for high-quality vector graphics on the Web.

October 1998 highlights:

The W3C has endorsed the Document Object Model (DOM) Level 1 specification as a W3C Recommendation.
The W3C acknowledged co-submission of the Timed Interactive Multimedia Extensions for HTML (HTML+TIME) specification from Compaq, Macromedia, and Microsoft.
