PC Powerplay

Our System section is comprised of several software categories that are all aimed at getting the most out of your box. It will adopt an archival existence by always having the old (as well as the new) on hand when you need them.

You'll find Windows updates, driver updates, patches for your OS, and various other stuff we happen to come across while surfing a particularly tubular barrel in Net-ville. If there are drivers missing here, or something else you think we might have missed (us?!), then let us know, OK?

Microsoft Jet Database Engine 3.5

A good fix to an old problem. The Jet35sp3.exe file contains an update of several DLL files that are included with Microsoft Access 97, Microsoft Office 97 Professional Edition, Microsoft Visual Basic (version 5.0 or later), and other products that incorporate Jet 3.5x. Microsoft Jet database engine version 3.51 provides an improved Compact utility that combines Compact and Repair into a single process.

Also, the updated version of the Jet database engine generates an error if it encounters a problem during the Compact process, and then creates the table, MSysCompactError, in the destination database. You may notice that it slows the loading of MS office 2000 by about 5 seconds but it also fixes a few bugs so that'ss OK.

System Requirements: Windows 95/98/NT.

Version: 3.5.1
File Name: Jet35sp3.exe
File Size: 1.3 MB
Licence: Freeware

Logitech Mouse Drivers

This release of MouseWare features support for Windows XP. Also included in this release is WebWheel. Click here for information on WebWheel. MouseWare uses a CHM-based Help file and Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher must be installed to view the Help file correctly. If you are using a release prior to 4.01, please upgrade your version of Internet Explorer.

NB: If you have installed MouseWare 8.x on Windows 2000, you must uninstall this version before installing MouseWare 9.0. If you install MouseWare 9.0 over a previous version of MouseWare, you may lose keyboard and mouse functionality.

Furthermore, if you are using Windows 95/98/NT4 and you plan to upgrade to Windows 2000 by installing over your current operating system, you must run the MouseWare uninstaller before upgrading to Windows 2000. The reason for this is that MouseWare 8.x (and earlier) is not supported under Windows 2000, and the uninstall for MouseWare may not run in Windows 2000 .

System Requirements: Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP.
