DemoPlay v. 2.4 ::: DemoPlay website DemoPlay is a great utility that lets you run Quake, Q2, Q3Test, and a host of other games' demos and cinematics simply by opening them from within Windows (you can even watch one from WinZip!). Definitely a must, and it'll also make browsing through Uncovered just that little bit easier =). ---------- DemoPlay ver. 2.4 for Win95/98/2K/NT Quake II Map Runner v. 0.921 ::: [Q2MR website currently in relocation process] Q2MR is a small program I wrote a while back that allows you to run Quake II maps simply by opening them from within Explorer, My Computer or even a .zip file (WinZip 6.3 or greater required). It's currently DOS-based, so make sure you read the readme file for instructions on how to use it. Soon I intend to update it to have a GUI, plus a few more features to make it even more useful, so I'll be sure to throw that on a future issue of Uncovered when it's released. Q2MR has been included in past issues of PC Powerplay, but I've included it here again incase anyone missed it. ---------- Quake II Map Runner for Win32 x86 systems PS2Rate ::: Qizmo website PS2Rate is an excellent utility that allows you to "overclock" in a sense your mouse (PS/2 only, sorry), allowing for *much* improved performance in Quake II and general Windows apps. It works by increasing the sampling rate from the default 40Hz all the way up to a possible 200Hz (that's 70Hz faster than USB mice!). When using this program for Quake II it's advisable to try turning m_filter off (ie. type m_filter 0 at the console), if you had previously turned it on to stop the 'jitters' experienced with high framerates. ---------- PS2Rate for Win32 x86 systems (in .zip format; use WinZip to upzip) |
